RealEngineSim: Experience Real Engine Sounds in a Simulation Game

RealEngineSim is a simulation game that allows you to immerse yourself in the authentic engine sounds of cars and motorcycles, thanks to innovative engine sound synthesis technology. Developed by SOUND DESIGN LAB LLC, this iPhone app is the result of years of research by engine sound professionals in Hamamatsu, a region known for its automobile and motorcycle manufacturers.

With RealEngineSim, you can enjoy the speed control and realistic engine sounds of manual transmission vehicles. The use of a speaker enhances the experience, but it is recommended to use earphones or a headset in public places to avoid disturbing others or damaging your hearing.

The game features four types of vehicles: passenger cars, sports cars, sports motorcycles, and racing cars. You can control acceleration, braking, clutch, and shifting in manual transmission vehicles, with an option for Auto-Clutch. Additionally, there are eight additional engine sounds available for in-app purchase.

RealEngineSim stands out for its pursuit of realistic engine sounds. The app utilizes precise vehicle models and innovative engine sound synthesizers to achieve lifelike engine behavior and powerful engine sounds. It even simulates tire slippage caused by sudden acceleration and braking, providing a truly immersive experience.

The game offers two modes: free driving and speed tracing. In speed tracing, the objective is to drive at a specific target speed. Expert mode allows you to race on famous courses from around the world, using racing speed data from real racing cars. There are also additional game modes, such as chicken race, available for in-app purchase.

RealEngineSim was developed by Osamu Maeda, an engineer with a long research background on engine sounds at Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. The app uses a new technology of engine sound synthesis, and a patent application is currently in preparation.
